Full Floor Office Fitout for Federal Government Agency

At Parkline Place in Sydney’s CBD, Codesign + Sheldon recently delivered a contemporary full-floor fitout for a federal government agency. Designed to overcome the limitations of the agency’s former office, the new workplace introduces advanced technology infrastructure, modern utilities, and flexible planning to support a more comprehensive working environment. AV-enabled meeting rooms, secure zones, quiet focus rooms, and hot desks form part of a flexible ecosystem that caters to diverse workstyles. With longevity in mind, the space also incorporates modular joinery and acoustic treatments that enhance both function and comfort, resulting in a bright, thoughtfully composed workplace that can adapt as teams and needs evolve.
The interior concept draws inspiration from Sydney’s natural landscape and reflects a commitment to cultural storytelling through its design. A soft, contemporary palette of blues and neutral tones is layered with lush greenery and First Nations art. The workplace features suspended feature rug by Wiradjuri artist Cara Shields. Custom acoustic panels and glazed decals integrate this agency’s Reconciliation Action plan artwork throughout the space, grounding the fitout in a deep respect for cultural heritage. These layered elements invite users into a workplace that feels vibrant and meaningfully connected to Country.
Aligned with government targets and Codesign + Sheldon’s own commitment to sustainability, this project once again emphasised environmental performance and reuse of materials. Furniture from the previous office was carefully incorporated into the new design, alongside the use of added modular joinery to enhance long-term flexibility. Close collaboration between internal divisions controlled the selection of sustainable finishes, minimised waste through careful planning, and facilitated the intergration of AV/IT and security systems.
